Breakfast Basics
Breakfast is generally a quick and easy affair. That doesn't mean you can wait until 6:55 to begin a 7am breakfast. A wise lady once told me, "You can do anything in 5 minutes . . . just not the last 5 minutes." This definitely applies to traditional cooking. Almost everything is started in advance and most of it is not time consuming, just slow and gentle. It requires thinking today of what you will eat tomorrow. Let me give you our basic plan. Each breakfast is served with fresh fruit and raw milk (from our cow). I sometimes add eggs to increase the protein content.
Sunday - Sunday Morning Coffee Cake
Monday - Cold Cereal (not from a box!!!)
Tuesday - Yogurt or Kefir
Wednesday - Sausage, Biscuits, and Eggs
Thursday - Hot Cereal
Friday - Muffins
Saturday - Pancakes/Waffles
Now this plan may or may not work for you. We like variety, but I have a friend who has only 2 breakfasts and they just alternate them. Meal planning must fit the family. Try these recipes or just use the preparation principles to make your own recipes more nutritious.
You can find the blog posts of all breakfast recipes on the Breakfast Recipes page. On this page, you can leave comments related to the recipes.
I will also transfer the recipes to a seperate web page for each category. If you are needing a specific recipe - say one for muffins - click on the link in the section above.
